diy hand carved stamp tutorial!

I was looking at my old blog posts and found this old stamp tutorial that I made two years ago and I
laughed at how horrible it was haha! So I decided to do an updated tutorial that is more detailed and
fun! I used to make hand carved stamps for my shop EatPrayCreate so it's been something that i've
been doing for quite some time! For those of you that are interested in getting started, be sure to take
your time and practice! I wasn't too good at first (this was my very first stamp that I carved) but once
I continued to practice I got better! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this tutorial I created for you guys! (:
Here is where you can get the materials:
1. rubber carving block - staedtler mastercarve block
2. tracing paper - purchase at any local craft store
3. x-acto knife - purchase at any local craft store
4. pencil - you can use any old pencil lying around
5. carving tool - speedball linoleum cutter

I've always loved calligraphy. It's not something I have done for a long time, but it has become such a fun
hobby for me. I just love the way the the letters flow and it feels so natural and organic compared to  type.
Here are some doodles I made today during my morning! I hope you enjoy (:

a sneak peak...

Remember I said that that i've been busy working on a special project, and that I went on a trip to
New York for something. Well here it is! My very first, and definitely not my last antique letterpress!
This baby is over 150 years old! Wow!

Many of you don't know that when I started my shop EatPrayCreate, I actually planned for it
to be a stationary store (the first thing I ever sold was a card!), but I eventually focused more on
rubber stamps. It's always been a dream of mine to create sweet paper goods, but I never got the
chance to rekindle my love for paper. That was until I stumbled upon this beauty, and that was
when I realized that I could make my dream com true! I've been working on a new paper shop,
Floret Letterpress that I plan to open very soon!

I will offer custom designed business cards, wedding invitations, ready-made cards, and other
lovely paper products, and you have no idea how excited I am because i've been working so
hard to create something that you all will love.

Since I am still in the early process of building up my website & store,
I will continue to update you guys on how things are going in my studio!
If you want to, you can take a peek on how things are going over at
the Floret Letterpress website, but it's a bit bare right now (:
If any of you are interested in custom stationary / business cards / invitations,
send me an email! I would love for you to be one of my first customers (:

OH! Please follow me on my new twitter account!

Chanel has been in need of a haircut lately, just look how fluffy her face is! Yesterday, she was rubbing
her face on the couch and when she looked up her hair was all static-y and was sticking up!
I wish I got a picture of it because it was hilarious! (:

want to wear - neutrals

I always thought wearing neutrals was boring, which is why I always avoided them.
Now that I see these outfits, I can see that wearing neutrals is totally NOT!
